Hanwha Q Cells [009830], a solar energy division of Hanwha Solutions, said Thursday that it will start the solar heating system business in Europe with Samsung Electronics [005930].

The two companies plans to develop an integrated energy solution that combines Hanwha Solution’s solar power supply system and Samsung Electronics’ eco heating system (EHS) to reduce heating costs and carbon emissions.

Consumers can replace fossil fuel-based heating equipment with eco-friendly system by supplying solar power to the EHS using Q.OMMAND, an energy management app developed by Hanwha Q Cells.

In addition, they can operate home appliances as well as EHS heat pump through the Zero Energy Home function on the SmartThings Energy app, which is Samsung Electronics’ home appliance control app.

Earlier this month, Samsung Electronics unveiled the two companies’ energy platform, which will be launched in Europe, at Europe’s largest consumer electronics fair “IFA 2022.”

The EHS heat pump is equipment that uses heat energy from the outside for heating, and it allows reducing heating costs by using solar power and energy storage system (ESS).
