Hanwha Defense will participate in the “AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition” held at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., from Oct. 10 to 12 (local time) to showcase advanced ground equipment.

The AUSA is the world’ largest defense exhibition in the field of ground forces held by the U.S. Army Association, and some 800 major defense companies around the world, including the U.S., Germany, and the U.K., participate every year.

Hanwha Defense plans to display K9 self-propelled howitzer and K10 ammunition resupply vehicle time for the first time in this exhibition to promote synergy effect of the simultaneous operation of the two equipment. The K10 ammunition resupply vehicle is the world’s first automated ammunition resupply equipment, and plays a major role in enhancing the combat sustainability by quickly supplying ammunition to K9 self-propelled howitzer.

The U.S. Army, which is carrying out the self-propelled howitzer modernization project, is interested in the technology of the K9 and the performance of the K10. Hanwha Defense previously invited U.S. Army officials in Arizona last month, and demonstrated the operation of K9 and K10.

In addition, it plans to unveil the current status of K9A2 development and road map for self-propelled howitzer development. The K9A2, which is currently being developed, is equipped with a fully automated turret, so it can reduce operational manpower and increase the launch speed per minute by 1.5 times.

It will also introduce advanced ground weapons systems such as the advamced infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) Redback and multi-purpose unmanned vehicles. The multi-purpose unmanned vehicle “Arion-SMET,” a key equipment for future combats, will also be introduced for the first time at the exhibition.

Sohn Jae-il, CEO of Hanwha Defense, said, “We will actively promote Hanwha Defense’s capabilities such as K9, K10, and Redback to make best results in the U.S. market, the major market for the defense industry.”
