The number of daily passengers at Incheon International Airport exceeded 100,000. It is the first time in 2 years and 9 months that the daily passengers at Incheon International Airport have recovered to 100,000 since February 18, 2020.

According to the Incheon International Airport Corporation on the 21st, the daily number of passengers at Incheon International Airport was 101,404 on the previous day.

Incheon Airport was a gateway airport used by an average of 200,000 people a day in 2019.

However, the number of passengers fell to 3,000 the following year due to COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the number of passengers per day increased to 50,000 on June 30 and increased to more than 100,000 today as the government has eased restrictions and increased international flights.

It is believed that the number of passengers at Incheon International Airport increased as major countries such as Japan and Taiwan have eased their COVID-19 quarantine regulations.

Some observed that it will be difficult to recover the number of passengers at Incheon International Airport unless China eases its lockdown measures.

However, the corporation analyzed that the recovery is progressing faster than expected as each airline has expanded flights to other regions such as Japan and Southeast Asia, where travel demand is recovering rapidly.
